Young males during puberty experience erotic dreams, get aroused, and ejaculate in sleep. Even adults experience these same problems due to stress, fatigue, suppressed sexual desire, and hormonal imbalance.

A prolonged occurrence may lead to premature ejaculation, erectile dysfunction, low sperm count, and insomnia. Controlling the body temperature by reducing metabolic heat or sound sleep or relaxed mind are key points to control nightfall. Here are some home remedies to control nightfall in men

Modified food habits:

  • Bottle gourd

  • Gooseberries / Amla

  • Garlic and onion

Allicin component in these roots reduces stress in the body and increases the blood flow to the male organs. This strengthens the muscles and maintains its integrity. Thus, prevents premature ejaculation. 3 – 4 chopped garlic buds with water or raw onions before sleep will do the trick. Onions can be included in salad or sandwich or topping but in raw form.

  • Milk

Calcium and protein in milk are essential for muscle functioning. Milk with almonds or banana further enhances these properties. The serotonin levels increase after milk consumption, which is necessary for sound sleep. Proper sleep ensures no dreams and no nightfall.3 – 4 servings of curd in a day give the additional benefit of cooling the metabolic heat of the body.

  • Juices

All juices help. Specially Celery leaves or fenugreek leaves with honey miraculously reduces the occurrence of nightfall. 3 parts of these leaves with 1 part honey before bed works best.

  • Sage tea

Sage tea has antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, mind-calming properties. Consuming sage tea before bed will help to stop nightfall.

  • Pomegranate

Pomegranate is high in antioxidants. It reduces stress in the body and also increases blood circulation. Consuming 1 – 2 servings of pomegranate daily for at least 2 – 3 months will give the desired effect.

Yoga

Yoga rejuvenates the whole body. It controls metabolism, regularizes hormonal function, and strengthens the muscles. Few asanas regulate the adrenal glands and thyroid function, strengthen pelvic girdle, and improves blood flow to the male organs. This reduces the episodes of nightfall. These asanas are:

  • Sarvangasana (Shoulder stand pose)

Lie down on the ground and place both of your hands by your side, joint your heels. Inhale and try to raise both of your legs to the 60-degree position. Stay there for a few seconds. Come back to the original position.

  • Uttanapadasan (Raised leg pose)

Lie down on the ground and place both of your hands by your side, join your heels.    Now try to lift both of your legs up at least (30 degrees) position. Lift your head off the floor. Try to hold in this pose for at least 10 seconds.

  • Setubandhasana (Bridge pose):

Lie down on the floor. Bend your knees comfortably; touch the ankles to the buttocks. Try to make a slight gap between your legs. Hold your ankles with both of your hands. Inhale and very slowly raise your buttocks up in the air. Hold for a few seconds and return to the original pose.

  • Paschimottanasana (seated forward bend pose):

Sit with both of your legs extend out on the ground. Slowly exhale and bend ahead. Try to touch your forehead to the knees and your elbows to the ground. Stay in that position for few breaths.

  • Gowmukhasana (Cow pose):

Sit cross-legged on the floor. Lift right leg and place it on the left leg, knee on knee. Lift your left arm parallel to the left ear and fold backward towards the shoulder blade. Fold right arm form below and take it towards the left shoulder blade. Try interlocking palms of both hands. Repeat the pose similarly on the opposite side.

  • Bhujangasana (Cobra pose):

Lie down on your stomach. Place your palm on the floor near the chest. Lift only your upper part of the body until abdomen and lookup. Stay there for a few seconds and then drop the head on the floor in resting position.

Pranayama

Pranayama delays ejaculation strengthens the muscles and prevents nightfall and premature ejaculation. Alternate breathing or anuloma viloma tops the chart to treat nightfall. Place thumb on 1 side of the nostril and last finger on others. Alternately close 1 nostril, breathe in. Close both nostrils and hold your breath. Breathe out opening the other nostril. Do this 10 times daily.

  • Exercise

Kegel exercises or pelvic floor exercises maintain muscle functionality and prevents nightfall. Either sit or lie down. Try to contract the muscles you would use to stop urinating. Feel your pelvic muscles squeezing your urethra and anus. Squeeze for 3 seconds and then relax for 3 seconds. Repeat this exercise 10 to 15 times thrice a day. Regular exercise is more likely to help effectively.

  • Bath

Bathing with warm water just before sleep maintains the normal body temperature. Bathing soothes the mind, relaxes the muscles, and promotes good night sleep. The use of essential oil during baths like lavender or lemongrass oil further enhances the effect.

  • Reading a book

Reading a book gives mental peace. The calm mind gives a night of sound sleep. This helps to avoid nightfall. Any genre of the book will do, but not romance novels. They have a similar effect as pornography which arouses sexual desire and culminates into nightfall.
