When it comes to health, apple is the most prominent amongst all fruits. And why not, it deserves to be in that position. We are all familiar with apple and apple juice benefits. In this article I have listed major apple juice benefits. Read on to know them.

Nutrients that contribute to apple juice benefits – 

The nutritional content of apple juice is equivalent to that of fresh apples.  The packaged and canned apple juices contain preservatives and additional sugar and salt which may decrease the nutritional value, hence fresh home-made apple juice are preferable over the ready-made ones.

Apple Juice benefits for health 

1] Reduces cholesterol – Apple juice is rich in pectin fibre which has the ability to mix with cholesterol in the blood and eliminate it.  Today’s lifestyles are such that we unknowingly or knowingly end up eating fast foods and fried food. Even youngsters in their late 20s face hyper-cholesterolemia (increased bad cholesterol and triglycerides). If drinking a glass of apple juice daily can save you from serious cardiac ailments then why not!

2] Improves heart health – Apple juice does not only reduce cholesterol but it also improves heart function by providing essential nutrients like potassium, sodium, flavonoids and antioxidants. It also helps in regularizing heart beat and helps in correcting arrhythmia.

3] Cleanses liver – Apple juice is alkaline, it helps in reducing acidity in the blood and maintains the blood pH at normal levels. Pectin helps in improving digestion and hence reduces the load on the liver. Its antioxidant content further helps liver in detoxifying.

4] Apples can help beat cancer –  Researches done in Hawaii and Finland’s National Public Health Institute have concluded that  quercetin and flavonoids  from apple are associated with 20%  reduction in the  risk of developing cancers and 46% reduction in the risk of lung cancer.

5] Improves digestion and prevents constipation and loose motion –  The sorbitol and fibre in apple juice helps in improving overall digestion and improves bowel movements by drawing water into the large intestine and giving bulk to the stools, making stools softer for easy passage and thus preventing constipation.

It also helps in stopping loose motions. The pectine in apple juice helps in binding excess water in the intestine and thus helps in reducing the bowel movement by giving it bulk and prevents dehydration and  weakness that occurs due to elimination of excess water and nutrients during loose motions.

6] Improves the functions and health of lungs – British researches have found that flavonoids and quercetin along with Vitamin C found in apples  supports the health and functions of lungs. The benefits of apple juice does not only end here, it is extended to saving the lungs from cancers too.

7] Provides Vitamin A – Apple juice provides Vitamin A its benefits  include improving vision, night blindness and also certain eye disorders.

8] Improves immunity – Apple juice provides Vitamin C, antioxidants and flavanoids which exert a protective function against  various diseases and disorders. These nutrients in apple juice also improves over all immunity of a person.

9] Improves bone health – Apples contain both calcium and Vitamin C which are the cementing materials of bones. Apple juice helps kids in better bone formation and in adults it helps in maintaining bone mineral density and prohibiting  calcium resorption.

10 ] Benefits of apple juice on skin – A lesser known benefit of apple juice is that ,application on face and scalp helps in treating wrinkles, chapped skin, sunburns,  dryness and dandruff.

    Hi ths Dhananjay. My weight is 68 kg. I want to gain muscles so I cross check wth my gym trainer. He advised me to take supplements bt I am little bit worried abt the supplements. Might its bad or good. Is there any side effects or what etc. So pls advice me madam what to do. Suggest me few supplements name.
