  • Vitamin C, Vitamin A, and Vitamin K.
  • Copper, Calcium, and Potassium. As well as Iron, Magnesium, Manganese, Zinc, and Phosphorus.

Benefits of Lady Finger (Bhindi):

1. Bhindi helps in  Weight Loss:

The low-calorie content of Okra (30 kcal / 100 gm),  make it a suitable food for weight loss. It provides minimum calories. Also, Bhindi has high fiber levels. This helps in keeping you full for longer.

2. Bhindi helps in Heart disease;

Okra contains soluble fiber pectin. Pectin helps in lowering bad cholesterol as well as prevents atherosclerosis. Lady Finger helps in the elimination of deposited cholesterol and clots.

3. Lady finger Controls blood sugar levels:

This benefit of lady finger (Bhindi) may be attributed to its fiber content. Eugenol a type of fiber, helps in slowing down digestion and absorption of sugar from the bloodstream. Hence it helps in avoiding sugar spikes after the meal and stabilizes the blood sugar levels. Its fiber further helps in lowering blood sugar levels.

4. Lady finger Improves digestion:

The fiber content of lady finger helps in better digestion and regularization of bowels. Pectin swells up in the intestine and helps in easier elimination of waste from the intestine. People suffering from constipation benefit from regular consumption of lady finger.

5. Lady Finger helps in Conception and pregnancy:

Lady finger (Bhindi) is an absolutely essential food for ladies who are trying to conceive. Okra contains folic acid/folate. Folate not only helps in conceiving but also helps in the development of the fetus. Bhindi also helps in the prevention of miscarriage. Folate helps in the formation of neural tubes of the fetus.

    • yes . it is a fibrous vegetable and you can use it in your weight loss diet. However , you must understand ,that eating bhindi alone for weight loss will not do any magic. it has to be a good healthy lifestyle combo where you workout and eat right diet

      Yes ofcourse . you can . this is a home remedy . but this alone will not help in losing weight . you need to follow a low calorie diet and also workout for atleast 45 mins to be able to lose weight.

  • Apologies It will be every second month in my last post. Also to Add on which vegetable are good for Protein, calcium, increase blood cells, rich of Vitamin C. Currently in my diet I am having Broccoli, carrot, beat root, capsicum, Green chili,Pumpkin seeds, lettuce, dal all varieties, Lady finger, Palak on my food habits basis I want to know more about rich vegetables on which i can prepare juices as I am Vegetarian. Thank you

  • Hi I am Rahul 32 year old , I usually change my diet every second from Steam food to Cook food and doing this from last couple of years. I can see no medical and health problems as such. Can I go with making juices of all vegetable daily in my meal instead of Steam and cook. Want to save my cooking time faster, easier and Healthy .Kindly suggest or any side effects if I go with that.
