      Hi Sasikala ,

you need to start with small small changes . like start with 10 mins walk 3 times a day , this will not affect your knee and back pain. once you can do this without much trouble and your body grows strong increase the timing from 10 mins to 20 mins 2 times and so on. walk on plain surface thrn you back pain will not agrevate.

diet wise start with any of our 1200 calorie diet plan that suits you.

    Hi Payal,
I am a woman, 45 y.o., 175cm (5ft75′). I was always weighting between 60-63 kgs. Last months, I moved to another country and within 2 months I gained almost 10 kgs without changing my diet habits. I am trying to lose weight, actually I already follow the advises that I have just read in your articles : A LOT of vegies, salads, no fried, no sugars, almost no bread, occasional pasta etc. The only one that I don’t do and I try to is to exercise more. Any tips please ? I would like to lose those extra kgs in a healthy way, considering also my age. Thanking you in advance for your input

Your body must have gotten used to the exercises and walking you do and now adjusts to whatever little calories you are intakingf. this happens in a lot of cases where despite of all efforts you dont lose a bit. breaking this plateau requires a lot of patience …. here is what you can do …….. exercise wise – stop doing what you are already doing for a week … and then you surprise your body with a new activity .. for ex – you have been walking all these days , so now change your activity to swimming / zumba dancing / skatting / gyming / playing badminton or lawn tennis … whatever suits you best. tai chi and kick boxing and pillates work excellently in such cases., i know its hard to find time and availabilty of such sports around you .. but if you want to get there .. you need to find harder !!

Food wise – surprise your body yet agin by co nsuming food stuffs that you never did .. it changes your metabolic graph and hence makes you lose weight …. ex – if you have been eating wheat and rice as staples so far … dont eat them for an entire week , and consume other cereals like bajra , jowar , or ragi …. this funda has worked superbly with my clients .. you can try and see if it suits you too ..

    Hi Payal,
I am 33 yrs old and my current weight is 69kg. I have always been heavy but joining work after pregnancy made me gain 10kgs. I used to be 59kgs before that, which is any ways more. But would like to come again under 60kg weight. Managing work home and baby along with exercise looks tough to me. Request you please suggest a diet plan for weight loss. Its so very urgent as i am putting on and on day by day. I am a sweet lover and vegetarian.
    Thanks in advance

I walk for 1.5 hours daily and do moderate exercises using gymball and resistance band at home for 1 hour daily. How long will it apporximately take to lose weight and achieve my goal? Do I have to be very patient?

        Hello,
Yes, I follow a diet with oats cooked in water 1 cup as breakfast, 2 dosas/ 2 chappathis for lunch and dinner. In between, I take raw vegetables or fruits or soaked peeled almonds or egg whites if I feel hungry. I use very little oil while cooking and no sugar. Walking 1.5 hours is broken down as 1 hour in the morning and 30 mins in the evening ie approximately 1000 steps/ 6.2 kms totally. Aside from workouts, I do 30 mins on vibration platform machine, but please tell me if it will be useful to do this? I rarely eat sweets, because I find it hard to restrain from eating sweets/chips once in a while.

          Hi ,

Your routine seems ok . please add more fruits , salads and soups . and also add 3-4 cups green tea . i have noticed that vibration platforms work well in case of morbid obesity or obesity . but you are around 65 , which isnt much . im not realy sure if this will help you so much , rather use that time for treadmill run or eliptical cycle workout , it will help you in toning better . even if you dont lose weight , you will lose in inches and your hips , thighs and belly will look all toned up .

I tend to put on weight in lower body, post pregnancy its more prominent n hips became wider. My upper body is too thin. Is there anyway I can gain weight only in upper body? My diet is not fix coz I ve a hectic office schedule. Morning I go for 30 min walk or jog. When I get time I do some abs workout at home.

      Hi Ashwini ,

spot reductions and spot weight gains are a little difficult. body reacts funnily and you never know which part of the body will gain weight , and which part will lose . the best way is to have a whole some approach . increase your workout from 30 mins to 45 mins . and do aerobics . running , swimming . these exercises helps in equal distribution of fats in the body . but to see the effects you need to work out for straight 6 months in continuation . do not expect miracles overnight. but you will get there with some efforts . All the best.

no there is nothing wrong with the diet . just increase your treadmill walk from 30 mins to 45 mins . the last 15 mins you need to jog / and do brisk walking . this will help you in toning .

Thanks Payal for your quick response!
I did a Fat Burning Cardio Workout by FitnessBlender, Ballet Beautiful Lean Hips -Outer and Inner Thighs Workout by Mary Helen Bowers, and recently I’ve been doing Losing Fat with Cardio and Cardio Workout by Rebecca Louise (all from youtube) I actually did the cardio exercise of Fitness Blender for about a week and from what I’ve said earlier I got tired doing the exercise so I decided to change it. I spend 25 minutes in doing Rebecca’s workouts and an additional 2 minutes plank. To clear it,I wanted to have an excat workout that will not build my things and other body parts with muscles, that’s all. I am really thankful that you’ve got to respond!
        Regards and God Bless,Payal.

          Hi Lianne ,

all the exercises you have mentioned are really good and have helped a lot of people. actually you need a 45 mins workout . only 25 – 30 mins are not enough to burn fat. please read this article – https://www.dietburrp.com/burning-body-fat-for-weight-loss/

use the steps mentioned here . and in the fat loss phase , do one of the above mentioned exercises that you were doing , or simply jogging / running on the treadmill or plain floor , or climbing the stairs , swimming (breast stroke, free style ), or doing eliptical cycle fwith full resistance andd high intensity will help .

    Hello Payal,
Your article is really interesting. I am 27 years old , my weight is 90kgs , 5.3 ft.
My calves, tight and hips are my biggest problem. I exercice in average 5 times a week at the gym, where I mostly do elliptical And a little jog. At home, I during the week-end more cardio as Insanity or P90X.
After reading your article, i don’t know What to do anymore for exercising without increased my muscles. I would like to know which exercice precisely will help me to reduce them.
    Thanks,

    Lynn

      Hi Lynn,

are you oing anything in terms of diet as well ? if i had to plan a strategy for you , i would firstly aim at losing 10 -12 kgs of weight from over all body , wi-thout targeting any particular body part . so a total of 60 mins workout (what you are doing is good ), along with a 1200 calorie diet plan , for atleast 3 months , which would have helped in losing 10 – 12 kgs weight. once the excess fat would burn out then targetting each muscles / body part seperately will work better.

may i ask you if you have any underlying medical condition and are you on any medications at all ? since when are you doing the exercises that you mentioned . and how are you keeping a track of the lost inches ? because sometimes , you may not notice any weight change , but inch wise you lose .

Thank you for you quick answer Payal,

It is been 1 month now that I am doing this routine , it is not easy because everyday is a new challenge. I am not under any treatment, I am just overweight (addicted to sweets and doesn’t like food). My weight reduce for almost 8 kg since I started (a month ago) but I m still fatty. It is really hard but I don’t want to quit. I was a little bit afraid because you wrote that elliptical wasn’t helpful for losing tights and hips. That is why I write to make sure I wasn’t killing myself for free.
If you have further informations which may help me, I will listen too.
        Thanks again!!

          Hi ,

8 kgs in a month is wow !! why are you not sounding satisfied with your results ? it is really good. yes cross trainer help in toning upo he muscles . but what i meant from the article is that you must first aim at losing the fat you have in that area and then tone up the muscles for better results and longetivity of the attained results .

please dont quit , what you are doing is brialliant . aim at losing another 10 kgs (you havent mentioned your height for me to help you in an exact form ). once you lose this kind of weight , your muscles will automatically start toning up and you would appear thinner from these areas. please take measurements of your hip and thigh area. and check them on a weekly basis to keep a track of the lost inches. this will motivate you further .
