Tips for healthy weight loss:

Before we move on to the 7 days vegetarian diet for weight loss, let us first see some Important tips that will help you in losing 5- 10 kgs weight easily.

  • Balanced diet:

Each and every meal must have all food groups in balanced amounts. Avoid having an only protein-based or only carb-based menu in 1 meal. Include plenty of colorful vegetables, protein sources like pulses and milk products, complex cereals and appropriate amounts of fats.

  • Do not skip meals:

Skipping meals starves the body and thus you end up eating more food in the next meal. This leads to weight gain instead of weight loss.

  • Eat less but more times in a day:

Divide your meals into 5 – 6 small meals. Do not consume only 3 major meals. Eat a small snack in between your 3 major meals namely breakfast, lunch and dinner. Dividing the meals will balance the regular supply of nutrients in the body.

  • Chew slowly:

Chew your food thoroughly. Chewing sends a hunger satiating signal to the brain. This allows a person to identify that there is no more hunger and to stop eating. With fast chewing the signal to the brain distorts or is delayed, making us eat more than required.

  • Select home-cooked foods:

You are aware of the ingredients used in the food. You can always modify the high-calorie recipes into low-calorie ones with simple techniques. Outside food is more than single portion size, high calorie and also contains preservatives.

  • Exclude refined foods:

A simple restriction of sugar in the daily diet plan leads to a major difference. Sugar in excess leads to storage of food in the body in the form of fats. Not only sugar but other refined flours like maida also leads to weight gain.

  • High fiber:

Select whole grains, fruits, and vegetables. A high fiber diet prevents extra absorption of unwanted calories. Fiber also has a high satiety level, which encourages the brain to eat less.

  • Antioxidant-rich water:

Consume antioxidant-rich lemon water or cinnamon water or jeera water. This increases the water intake along with balancing the vitamins and minerals requirement throughout the day.     I am Soumiyo Barua from Kolkata. I am 29yrs old with a height of 5’8″ and a weight of 82kgs.
    I am interior designer by profession and have no work schedule…. Infact i have to work all the day round and maintaining a heavy diet plan is almost next to impossible for me. I leave home at 9am and come back at 8pm.

    Hi
    I am 39,years of age and my present weight is 67 kg height 5feet2inches.i have tried so many diets and still I am on the same weight.i do 1hour power yoga 5times a week.i can’t do crash dieting it effects my health.i myself have reduced 15kgs so far but now it’s getting difficult .last year I and hernia operation and two c sec.

      Your body must have gotten used to the exercises and walking you do and now adjusts to whatever little calories you are intaking. this happens in a lot of cases where despite all efforts you don’t lose a bit. breaking this plateau requires a lot of patience …. here is what you can do …….. exercise wise – stop doing what you are already doing for a week … and then you surprise your body with a new activity ..
      for ex – you have been walking all these days, so now change your activity to swimming / Zumba dancing/skating/ gyming / playing badminton or lawn tennis … whatever suits you best. tai chi and kickboxing and pilates work excellently in such cases., I know it’s hard to find time and availability of such sports around you .. but if you want to get there .. you need to find harder !!

    Dear Dr
    I m 39 years old and 11 years married woman. So far with no child
    Currently I m on treatment my FSH is 15. Thyroid is 4.9 and my fasting sugar is 96 and random 112.
    Dr advised me hormonal treatment
    My weight is 59kg and height is 5.1
    Kindly suggest what type of diet plan i should follow either for weight loss or gain. Second also consider that i am taking infertility treatment also suffering thyroid and hormonal imbalance

        *I wake up at 4 am then i take 2 glasses of water empty stomach and after 40 mins i take some homeopathic medicines and iron suppliment, as i am iron deficient.

        *7 am i take 1 glass milk with with dry fruits.
        * 9 am i take a breakfast
        *11- fruit or water melon juice
        *3 pm i take lunch – 2 chapati/2 bowl rice , vegetable, dal 1 bowl each, salad, curd sometimes.
        Then 7 pm i take my dinner something light.
        Then i sleep at 8pm.
        Is it ok. I do yoga for 30 mins and walk for 30 mins.
        But my weight is fixed from long time but not reducing.

          Your body must have gotten used to the exercises and walking you do and now adjusts to whatever little calories you are intaking. this happens in a lot of cases where despite all efforts you don’t lose a bit. breaking this plateau requires a lot of patience …. here is what you can do …….. exercise wise – stop doing what you are already doing for a week … and then you surprise your body with a new activity ..
          for ex – you have been walking all these days, so now change your activity to swimming / Zumba dancing/skating/ gyming / playing badminton or lawn tennis … whatever suits you best. tai chi and kickboxing and pilates work excellently in such cases., I know it’s hard to find time and availability of such sports around you .. but if you want to get there .. you need to find harder !!

            Can the case may not be that I am taking more calories and working out less.
            The day I eat little less, I find my body lighter.
            So should I change my workout or I should increase the duration of the present one.

            As I have told You i have vitamin D deficiency, iron deficiency and gall stones. So can I follow Gm diet?

            Nope , you shouldfollow a well balanced and low calorie diet . These Gm and Keto are not suitable for your condition . yOU WILL HAVE TO TRACK THE NUMBER OF CALORIES YOU EAT EVERY DAY. AND SPEND EVERY DAY . THIS WILL HELP IN DECIDING WHERE YOU STAND AND WHAT SHOULD BE YOUR NEXT STEP

            According to my BMR I can take 1500 calories but how much I should loose in a day?

            Generally my breakfast becomes heavy, like instead of 1 cup I take 2 cups. Or 400 gms of the breakfast. Lunch is exact as what You have mentioned in 1200 calories diet and dinner also same.
            If i fast any day then I reduce around 2 kgs in a day. But as I come to the normal diet, I regain it.

    I am quite impressed with this simple to do diet plan. Nothing fancy at all. I started today. Hope if I follow it properly I will loose. Anything specific to alter I am 5 feet and 65.7 on a digital scale.

      thank you for reading at dietburrp . we are glad you liked the plan . do follow it , and let us know if there is anything we can help you with . also make sure that while on this diet , you do a 45 mins walk atleast once a day and 6 times a week . it will help you get much better results .

        Sanvi , you just need to lose 2 more kgs and you will be in the right weight. if you are above 15 years , then you can have this diet and just follow a good workout regime of 45 mins every day , and soon you will be fit .
