My mom is a diabetic patient for last 4 years, currently her Fasting sugar level is 89 and Post Postprandial level is 241.
She is currently under supervision of a Apollo doctor in Hyderabad at Sugar Clinic.
    Taking below medicine-
    Glykind-M.

Before this for last few months she was taking medicine-
    Tribitrol 1-Forte,
and that has been stopped now as doctor said that Tribitrol 1-forte is very high dose medicine.

Kindly comment on current medication whether good or bad and suggest some good daily life things to include.

    Dear Payal

An attempt was made for reversing my sugar level. After stopping my medicine fro past 45 days, I sticked to strict diet plan -as suggested by you, and brisk walking for 45 to 50 in daily evening, was able to bring down and control my sugar level in the range of FF 85 TO 100 & PP 95-125. recently for past 10 day FF has increased to 9t to 112 whist PP is well controlled.

What factor contribute to increase FF ?

Effectively after how many hours do I need to check my FF levels from the time I had dinner previous night ?

When I checked my FF tdy, The time duration gap between Previous night dinner and FF test time was app close to 8.5 to 9.5 hrs is it ideal time ? or else it should be 12 hours.

Earlier, FF reading 89 to 103 was recorded after a time gap of 10.5 to 12 hrs ? is this may be one of the reasons?

    Regards
    BMKumar

      Dear Sir ,

Thank you for reading at Dietburrp. ideally fasting sugars should be checked after a 12 hours gap . fasting sugar is the sugar that liver produces overnight . hence it is independent of the food that you eat . but eating complex carbs at dinner will help you indirectly . also start walking for 30 – 40 mins late in the evening . This helps in controlling the sugar production at night

    Hello payal ji,
You are doing a great job and your blogs are pretty helpful and neat.
I have a query about my father. He is 54 yr s 5’7″ tall weighing excess of 98kgs. A diabetic( for last 7-8years) gout( 10yrs) hypertensive and recently faced a cardiac failure just a few days back completely gone unnoticed( probably due to being a diabetic). Doctors asked to reduce weight immediately and to indulge in phisycal activity. What diet should he follow and a diet plan which he can stick with. Being a cardiac patient intense exercises can’t be advised and running too as due to gout. What form of physical activity should he adopt. And how much calories will be optimal for him.
Your help will be deeply appreciated
    Thanks in advance

      Hi Heena ,

weight loss in elderly with diabetes is very common , this happens because glucose is present in blood but is not available to the body for energy needs , so body turns towards stored fat and lean muscles . as a resut the person gets thin . i his sugar is n=in control , you can ask him to add almonds , and diabetic protein powder to his food . he ca also increase quantity of food intake .
