    Hlo ma’am!
I have a doubt about use of fenugreek.I heard that food like fenugreek ,bittergoud don’t lower blood glucose. They contain some compound which at the time of glucose test just prevent the orignal level being displayed rather than actually lowering blood glucose level.

    Hi Payal,

    1. My husband has high cholesterol(Family Inheritance), can he include ghee in his diet?
    2. Q. about direct and indirect form, For eg. If I add ghee while kneading the aata(Indirect) Vs i spread ghee over the roti once it done(Direct). Will Nutrient level be same in both?
Similar Eg. If I make avocado paratha(Indirect) Vs if I eat raw avocado(Direct), Will I get same benefits in both form or will get more if I eat it in raw(Direct form)?
    3. I stay in US and I don’t have access to P-nut Oil in bulk easily. Currently I use Canola oil for frying & Olive Oil in cooking. But, Which one is better? When I google, it shows almost similar benefits but if you look cost wise same Quantity of Canola comes for $8 vs Olive oil comes for $32. Please recommend me, which one is better? Are there any significant difference? Otherwise, I can save some bucks.

      Hi Resh ,

please find your answers below –

      1. My husband has high cholesterol(Family Inheritance), can he include ghee in his diet?

      – yes a little bit wont harm . rather it is essential . maintain a steady intake of 1-2 tsp a day . not more . and please avoid dalda, margarine completely .

      2. Q. about direct and indirect form, For eg.

      – ghee – direct or indirect , calorie and effects on body is the same.
      – Avacado and other fruits and veggies , there is not much difference , except that some nutrients like Vitamin C are lost when they are exposed to heat for cooking.

Hi I’m a 24 year old mom. I had GDM when I was pregnant and my sugars came down after sometime. Because of my condition I was not able to lose the excess weight and my diet was not proper. Now my hba1c is 8 and my AC/PC is 120/125. I’m not on any medicines. I’m scared I won’t be able reduce it and even if I do I’ll be a diabetic forever. That thought makes me really worried. Can you suggest a meal plan and I exercise whenever I find time.
Is it possible to go into hypoglycemia even if I’m not on any medicines? Or am I at risk because I have diabetes

    Dear Payal,
Please suggest a good diet plan for type 2 diabetes. The fasting sugar is high in 200’s in the morning later it is fine with medication.
Can I eat Upma,Poha,Rava Idly for dinner ? How can I do portion control ?
Also is Quinoa a good option for dinner ?What are the protein sources for vegetarian people with diabetes?

    Hi Payal:

The above article by you is wonderful.

I am 43 male 5.8 ht ,140 kg. I was diagnosed with diabetes 3 years ago. My fasting sugar remains around 150 and after eating it rises to 250 plus, today it was 282 after breakfast of 2 plain rotis and 1 bowel upma in morning.

I also am suffering from spondylolysis due to which I cannot walk and i remain seated all day in chair. I have sciatica too. My movement is limited from bed to chair. Due to lack of movement, I am not able to exercise or lose weight.

I take Glynase MF one tablet 20 minutes before meal and half tablet 20 minutes before dinner. I take Torvason-20 as advised by doc once a day in morning.

Can you suggest me diet plan for my compulsive sedentary lifestyle ? I would be grateful. Thank you.

I am a diabetic for the past 7 years. I am on glycomet SR 500mg (metformin).Recently my HBA1C was 7.2. For the last 1 year it was like 7,7.2 and the 7.1, latest being 7.2.Well i am taking 1800+ Kcal. Please suggest how much should be my calorie intake. ALso how important is it to take vitamins for a daibetic? Also note i walk for 3+ km 5days/week . age 35

Hi Rakesh , please feel ree to ask me as many questions that you have . the Hba1C is better when kept below 6 . since you are a diabetic from 7 years , the constant high in blood sugar affects the blood vessels of various organs , and thats how all the complications start . although this will not immediately make you uncomfortable , but dont leave it on future , as if the dm is due to physiolocial issues of body , the diets and exercises wont help much in the future , so its better to keep this as near to normal as possible.

      Hi Rakesh ,

while your weight is in the right form , rather a little less than what it should be . hence an 1800 calorie plan is ok for you . but looking at your HBA1C your diet definitey needs intervention … choice of food is also important. you Also need vitamins and mineral for over all wellbeing, improving immunity and to be able to delay other illness taht are related to diabetes . i can plan a customized diet plan for you based on your requirement . if interested please mail at care@dietburrp.com
