Mix vegetable soup for weight loss

Every day when I send out diet charts to my clients, a lot of them reply asking if they can buy ready-mix soups or drink takeaway soups as it is cumbersome to make. This mixed vegetable soup for weight loss is so easy to make and it gets ready in almost no time. Ready-made soup mixes have a lot of preservatives and sodium, which only makes you gain water weight. So instead of losing weight, you might end up feeling bloated. The best way to lose weight is to have simple homemade soups. Here is the recipe of mix vegetable soup.

Preparation time5 mins
Cook time15 mins

Mixed vegetable soup for weight loss  :

Ingredients –  (Serves 4 -5  ) 

– Tomatoes – 3 medium size

– Carrots – 2 medium size

– Cabbage – 1 cup cut (around 100 gms )

– Beetroot – 1/2 cup (around 50 gms)

– Onion – 1 medium size

– Garlic – 4-5 cloves

– Cardamom – 1-2

– Cinnamon – 1 cm

– Cloves – 2-3

– Chaat masala, salt, red chili powder, roasted jeera powder.

– 2 tsp sugar

– Steamed corn kernels ( 1/2 cup )

– Coriander chopped.

– 1/4th tsp butter

Procedure –

– In a pressure cooker, put all the veggies ( cut in large pieces) except corn. Add 1.5 glass of water, 1 tsp salt, and cinnamon stick. and let it cook for 3 whistles.

– Cool it, remove the cinnamon stick and then grind in a mixer. You can keep the same water from the pressure cooker separately to be added later.

– You can either strain this puree or let it be and enjoy the healthy benefits of fiber this unstrained soup provides. I prefer the unstrained.

– In a pan, heat 1/4th tsp butter, add cardamom and cloves, add the vegetable puree, add the remaining water from the pressure cooker, add salt, chaat masala, roasted jeera powder, and sugar.

– Add the steamed corn kernels and coriander leaves to this soup and serves hot.

Enjoy this yummy mix vegetable soup for weight loss when on diet, and you would really feel that dieting is not about starving, but having such delicious healthy drinks.

      Hi Bhawna , how much weight are you targetting , it is healthy to lose only 3-4 kgs in a month. this target can be achieved if you follow the pattern that i have mentioned.

      you can anyways follow the plan only once in a month . this is a crash diet and is not suitable for following back to back .

    I’m 16 years old and perfect in size and weight. Though I’m not overweight in any way…I don’t have a flat belly. I want to get rid of the extra flab of fat on my tummy and my regular workout i.e. aerobics is just not working. Can you please suggest me some tips on how can I eradicate it?

    This recipe seems to be a perfect idea of vegetable soup to me but i dont have a pressure cooker.Can we make this without a pressure cooker.If yes can u please tell me how?

      you can boil all the veggies in a vessel . just cover it with a lid . and let it boil for 15 mins.

    my name is Pardeep and i live in canada . i am working women . i have given a birth to my son 11 months ago and now i want to lose 10-15 kg. i am punjabi and i tried all of diets and i even drink apple cider vinegar before breakfast, lunch, and dinner. i recently stat walking for 30 mintures. can you please help me lose 15 kgs . i have a thyroid as well, i got that during my pregnancy.

    hi payal,

    i weigh 60kg and my ht is 5.2″. Am on my 2nd day of GM diet. I am used to having heavy breakfast and now not able to cope with this. Can you suggest what I can have for my breakfast on the rest of the days so that I can follow the GM plan strictly and not cheat. On day 1, I had 2 rotis and some nuts for breakfast but followed the plan for the rest of the day. still i am super excited bcoz my wt has reduced by 1.5kg.thank u soooo much.

      thats good . congratulations. but to be honest , eating rotis or any carbs for rest of the days will not give you good results . please avoid . eat a lot of food that is allowed on that particular day . do not starve but avoid the items that are prohibited on that day of the plan.

      sorry dear , but i do not prescribe brown rice on day 5 . its only on day 7th . yes you can have a little low fat , vegetable based sambar with it .

    I am alpana , i have gained around 10 kgs in 1 year after marriage . i have tried many diet plans & workouts but cudnt do it regularly due to my job .i am 27 years old and i also work so i hardly get time to work out. earlier i used to gym but from the past 2 -3 years i dont get time to hit the gym . kindly suggest.

      yes palak paneer is a preffered option to have on the protein day . this will add variety tp your diet and change in taste . just make sure the ingredients you use in making it belong to the allowed list of GM diet on that particular day.

    Hi Payal,

    Over the past 5 months I have gained almost 10 kgs. During my schools days I used to be very fat. After that I started severe dieting(not a proper one) and reduced 20kgs and maintain my weight around 53 to 55kgs for the next 4 years. I have joined gym last year and due to lack of time and work pressure I discontinued it. Can you please clarify me the reason for my sudden weight gain and steps to reduce it.

      you would know the reasons of your weight gain better than me. please introspect and see where you are going wrong . how are your food habits lately . how is your stress level . yes gyming and then discontinuing it all of a sudden definitely leads to weight gain . but 10 kgs for this reason alone is not possible. are your periods regular ? are you on medicinew ? have you recently checked your thyroid ?

    Hi, Over the Past 4 months I Gained almost 10 kgs. During my high school days I used to be very fat after that I control my diet and lost 20 kgs I maintained my weight around 52 to 54 kgs for next 4 years. Last year I joined gym but due to work pressure I discontinued it. Am I getting weight of this reason. Can you please help to figure out the problem of my weight gain and steps to maintain it?

    Today is ma first day…..I hav a dbt that can I take chapati on 5 th day…..i read that wheat and oats are gluten content foods so it should be avoid …plz do replay…..while have scrubled egg can I use quarter tsp butter for sauting ….

      Hi Swweety , according to me , 5th and 6th day are protein days and carbs are to be avoided on these days . you can have brown rice on day 7 . yes use as little as possible.

      follow GM diet only once a month . never follow s uch crash diets in continuation , as the weight will all come back sooner or later. you can follow the 1200 calorie diet on our website to try and maintain the lost weight .

    hello mam,,after my knee surgery i was on bed rest, and due to this my weight has got increased too much. I feel lots of difficulty in works due to over weight. And when i dont have food while hungery i feel low, so i have to eat what is availabe. Due to this my weight increaded even higher. Now it has become really difficult for me to be active. I wanna go on complete veg food and soups. I can take those during fasting times. I would be really helpfull i u could suggest some thing to me. Thank u

      Hi Mayuri , its not really advised while on GM . but i dont see any harm in it , as the whole idea is to tuen this crash diet in to healthy somethings. just have thin soups made out of mung dal and do not use any oil in preparations. what i normally do is boil mung dal with excess water , mix it well with a beater , add corriender leaves , salt and lemon juice.

    this was awesome. I am on my 4th diet day and I loved the soup. I added green peas & corn in the cooker, but still liked it. :-). Thanks for sharing such a good receipe.

    This soup sounds amazing ..can we add some boiled chicken or fish and olive oil instead of butter to make it tastier and to have a little change…
