Lady finger has 80 mg of calcium in 100 gms . you can take it , but for better effects you should consider other food sources that provide much more calcium. include ragi , milk , paneer , curd , sesame seeds in your diet

I am 68. Recently diagnosed as diabetic about 8 months back weighing 73 kg, height 5 ft 3 inches. Initially I controlled it with allopathic medicines and there after for the past 6 months I am solely depending on Ayurvedic treatment. I take one tea spoon full of methi dana daily which I have been taking for years together for controlling body weight. In addition I am also taking one tea spoon powder of Haldi, giloy, amla, darchini, jamun seed, karela and mango seed powder maintaining fasting sugar level within 130 and PP sugar level below 200.
For the past 15 days I started taking bhindi ( okra ) water daily in the morning by soaking 2 bhindi in 4 pcs overnight but I don’t find any improvement. Since the taste of okra water is not pleasant so I am unable to decide whether to continue or not.
For the past 10 days I have started tingling sensation in the left palm which is a side effect of diabetis so I have again started allopathic treatment to get rid of the tingling problem. Any advice ?

Although the things you have mentioned are helpful in controlling blood sugar , but i will suggest you to not give up on your medications . looking at your age, the diabetes is more age related and hence the side effects or related illness will occur faster as your body will not be able to cope up with the same intensity. hence continue your medications along with these remedies. try to keep your blood sugar near normal .

Vit D is best supplemented through medicine . food wise the absorption is very slow. so for now medications is the best resource.
