Fruit and Sprout Poha

Last Updated on June 20, 2019 | RD, Payal Banka (Registered Dietitian) 6 Comments

I picked up this fruit and sprout poha recipe from my Mum’s best friend. The best part is that it is a no-cook recipe and no oil is required. A tasty and healthy recipe for those who stay at hostels / PGs or don’t like cooking.

Fruit and Sprout poha

Good ForWeight loss, stress, hypertension, constipation, heart ailments
Health FactorHigh antioxidants, high vitamin C, high iron, high fiber.

Prep. Time15 min
Cook Time –

Fruit and Sprout Poha:

Ingredients (for 2 serves):

  • 200 gm soaked poha (2 cups)
  • 1 small finely  chopped apple with peel
  • 1 cup pomegranate
  • 1/2 cup sprouted moong
  • 1 tbsp onion, finely chopped
  • Finely chopped coriander leaves
  • 1 tbsp powdered groundnut
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/8 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • Lemon juice to taste

This recipe can be modified according to availability of ingredients. Like if you do not have sprouts, just go with fruits or vice- versa.  If you love seasoning you can also add some to this fruit and sprout poha at the end for better taste.

For seasoning (optional)

  • 1 tsp olive oil /groundnut oil
  • Curry leaves 5- 8 Nos.
  • ½ tsp Mustard seeds
  • 1 green chili

Instructions:

Step 1: Mix all ingredients together in a bowl

Step 2: Add salt, pepper, lemon juice, and sugar

Step 3: Garnish with coriander leaves and seasoning.

Step 4: Refrigerate it for some time, and serve cold!

      Hi Priya ,

oh no no , she doesnt need to follow GM diet. she can start with 1400 calories diet plan first and then shift to 1200 calorie diet plan for effective weight loss.
