But don’t just let it fade away so easily. Keeping up with your New Year resolution might be tough but it is not as tough as making up your mind to become healthy. Here is how you can keep up .
Keeping up with your new years weight loss resolution :
Becoming healthy is no rocket science . with a little efforts on correcting your eating habits and incorporating at least 30 mins of exercises will help you great deal in achieving your target. here are some tips on how you can keep yup with your weight loss resolution .
Stop treating weight loss as a punishment:

The failure rate of weight loss diet plan is 80% plus. This is mainly because those who follow it , treat their plan as a punishment. Agreed that not many of you like to wake up on a cold winter morning to go for a walk. But there are so many other options to spend calories, if you are a dog lover, take your dog or other pet for a walk, walk in the evening, afternoon, or whenever you find time.
If you are not a weight training fan, or can’t go to gym for whatever reasons, find alternate ways to make activities fun. If you have child, hold your baby in your arms and walk in the parking or carry your grocery bags, it really does not matter what mode you use, all that matters is the activity and how good you feel doing it! Enjoy healthy food rather than cribbing over it. Who said healthy can’t be tasty ? Find awesome tasty healthy recipes at dietburrp.

Emotional eater? Make positive use of it!
If you are a person who easily gives up on emotions, and think that a sweet cream loaded pastry is the solution to almost any problem in the world, it is time you look beyond that pastry to find comfort in other healthy food .
Other healthy food options –
Gajar ka halwa –

Winters and gajar ka halwa are like synonyms. Just steam lots of grated carrot, add some skimmed milk and cook for some more time , (you seriously don’t need to add the greasy ghee) add some grated jaggery or artificial sucralose based sweetener and dig in to this nutrient rich and fibre full dessert!
Peas sandwich –
Just grind a lot of peas with ginger and green chilly, and cook with a glass skimmed milk, add salt to taste , fill it in between 2 slices of multigrain or brown bread and dry roast on a nonstick pan. The natural sweetness of peas is far more soothing and comforting than those desserts that give you only sugar and calories.
Home-made ice cream –

If you love ice creams, and find them to be your best buddies in the moments of depression, then all you need to do is make a healthy fruit smoothie at home with some skimmed milk and fruits and deep freeze it.
Fruit puddings –
If you are one of those who feel that nothing can ever replace a tasty cake, you have got to try this fruity pudding. In a glass bowl, set a single layer of whole wheat marie biscuits or multigrain biscuits, sprinkle some coffee water over it, add a layer of home-made condensed milk, add lots and lots of fruits (oranges , apple, chikku, strawberries, kiwi, grapes, cherries etc ) and again cover this with a layer of whole grain biscuits, you can add some more fruits soaked in condensed milk on top and refrigerate it for some time, before you can indulge in this healthy dessert. (Absolutely no sugar required. Amazing isn’t it! )
Stop overdoing healthy!
This might come to you as a surprise, but I keep advising all my clients that for a balanced and attainable weight loss, do not overdo the healthy. A lot of people tend to take up A to Z of what they know as healthy on a single day. And as a result the many changes in the routine that are suddenly introduced do not survive for long in their schedule. Eventually they stop doing everything one by one or all at once due to the inconvenience it brings in.
Take up on 1 – 2 habits, do it for a week, wait till these habits become a way of living and then introduce a new healthy habit.
Stop Procrastinating!

When it comes to setting a New Year resolution, most people have “Health” on their list, But when it comes to execution of these resolutions, most people procrastinate health goals over other ones. Remember “Health is wealth”. If you don’t have time for your own health today, soon you will not be healthy enough to enjoy whatever else is important to you in life.
Stop finding reasons and stop blaming others
Image : Copyright: vesnacvorovic / 123RF Stock Photo
“It is damn cold out there to go for an early morning jog” , ” I am Menstruating ” , ” I have to make early lunch to pack boxes for my kids and husband” , ” I slept late last night” blah blah blah… I get a lot of these reasons from a lot of people after they have skipped a planned exercise / diet session. Well I don’t say that nothing else is more important, but there definitely is an alternate way out. Missed your morning walk, no problem, do an evening walk today. You feel unwell ? Walk around the house, drink lots of green tea. Family dinner that you can’t avoid, have a lighter meal the next day. But stop blaming the weather, your spouse or kids or others for your failures.
Keeping up with your New Year’s resolution is not as hard as it may seem to be. A little determination is all it takes.

Hello. I’m suma and 15 years old. It’s kind if young to be on a full on diet, so I’m controlling my carb intake and exercising for 45 minutes a day. This is what I eat:
8:00- one glass milk, two idlis or two dosas with chutney
12:30- three cups rice, with curry, dal and curd
4:45- Maggie noodles, masala corn or something similar
6:00- one cup tea and 4 biscuits
9:30- two chapatis with curry or 4 cups of rice with curry, dal and curd.
I’m only 5’3 and about 64 kgs now. It’s really embarrassing and I need to control my food intake. My mom insists that I don’t diet and so do my relatives so, whenever I go out, I’m forced to eat fast food with them. Can you please suggest some more improvements? I also happen to love coffee but is it good for health? I read somewhere that we need to burn more calories than we eat. Is it true? Thanks a lot.
Hi suma, I understand your concern , also your mum and family arent wrong . you are too young to go on diets . best way for you is to exercise for 45 mins every day . with this reduce the quantity of rice at dinner .. 4 cups is too much , insead have 1 – 2 cups of rice with lots of salads and fruits . you can have a glass of skim milk at night if you feel hungry. try walking for 10 – 15 mins each time after eating . climb stairs , these tips will help you losinbg weight.
Hello mam,
I am about 21 yrs and my height is 5’11” and weight about 89 kgs.
I have been following a particular diet for about 15 days it includes
Warm lemon water with 1 tablespoon honey
A glass of skimmed milk after a hour
Then during lunch I have
2 wheat chappati with whatever vegetable( sabji) prepared except aloo with alot of salad.
Then around 4:30 I have glass of milk and then I leave for gym. During gym I consume energy drink (glucose) provided by my trainer.
Now around 7:30 I have some salad with juice
or a bowl of puffed rice.
Then at night I have a glass of milk again with some biscuits.
I am very sincerely following it but seems no progress..quite frustrated right now.
What should I do ??
Please kindly recommend me something..
I wanna lose 12 kgs..
Please do reply mam.
Thank you..
