Dear Ma’m,
Recently I have been experiencing a rise in my urea and creatinine levels. Both are almost nearing the maximum normal levels. I am male, 45, have hypertension and on medication, have thyorid problem but on medication for that as well, blood sugar level was 168(fasting) one and a half months back, but have managed to bring it down to 86 this month as I write to you., simply by modifying my diet. I am overweight but taking care of it, though I hardly get a chance to exercise regularly. What should I eat and what should I leave out of my diet bring the urea and creatinine levels down? Is it high time to see a nephrologist yet, or do I have a chance to take a dig at my diet, and the visit one if that does not work?
Hi Arindam ,
ypou can actually first ceck with a nephrologist . if the urea and creat have constantly been on an up , it is alarming. and early detection is the key to better treatment. Although you can manage the levels by changing your diet , but when it comes to matter like kidney , a check up is definelty the call. do let me know after the check up and i shall provide you with a e=to eat and a not to eat list .

Hi Ravi ,
have you cross checked your hb levels with a different lab ? what has the doctor said ? there may be some cause of this elevation right , based on the cause we would know if the increase is normal or not , and what should be the next steps . normally you dont need to worry about it , unless it is constantly on a rise.
