For every road that leads you to your destination, there’s a shortcut that you may or may not choose to use depending on your situation. Overweight persons or those who think that they do not have the perfect shape to create an impact in social situations tend to take the shortcut route. They resort to a diet plan that would bring a drastic change to their appearance in a very short period of time. Even Kate Middleton, The Duchess of Cambridge used the Dukan Diet to get skinny before her wedding in 2011.

I would suggest you to not get carried away with crash diets, but use the concept of such diets, modify it to make it healthy and use it to your benefit. This is exactly what we have done with our 7-day Indian vegetarian GM diet plan on Dietburrp. We have now designed an Indian Non-Vegetarian GM Diet Plan for Weight Loss as we thought that people who rely more on non-veg foods should not compromise on their daily nutritional requirements. Keeping in view the daily calorie and nutrition requirement of people following the GM diet plan and respecting their taste and culture, here we present an Indian Non-Vegetarian GM Diet Plan for Weight Loss

Indian Non-Vegetarian GM Diet Plan for Weight Loss

It is rightly said that “The beginning is the toughest yet most important part of the plan.” This holds true in this case of an Indian non vegetarian GM diet plan for weight loss.

Purpose – Detoxification.

Foods to eat – on this day 1 of Indian non vegetarian GM diet plan for weight loss, eat only fruits in unlimited quantity. Yes, Kilos and Kilos of fruit can be eaten. Normally people starve themselves out. Please don’t do that to yourself.  Eat a lot of varieties in fruits to achieve the best results on this day. Bite it, chew it, drink it, mash it or stew it. Have it the way you like.

Best food picks – Watermelon, cantaloupe, pineapple, orange, lemon, sweet lime, strawberries, papaya, apple, grapefruit, kiwis.

Foods to avoid – Starchy fruits like mangoes, chikku, grapes, litchi, custard apple, and bananas.

Day 2 :

Purpose – Detoxification.

Foods to eat – Eat only Vegetables on this day. Here again, the quantity is unlimited. You may feel a little weak in knees due to no hardcore carb intake on day 1, hence this day allows you to have a cup of a boiled or baked potato for your breakfast. Like I mentioned in day 1, don’t starve yourself. Eat every 2 hours. You can have your vegetables raw or you can bake it, boil it, steam it, soup it, grate it, shred it, chop it or cube it. Enjoy a variety of veggies in different salad form. Put your imagination and creativity at cooking to use.

Best food picks – Have a lot of cabbage, carrots, beetroots, radish, bottle gourd (cooked with no oil or very little olive oil.) salad veggies like cucumber, asparagus, varieties of capsicum, salad leaves. you can also have spinach ( Recipe -Palak soup  (just avoid the mentioned milk in the recipe)).

Day 3 :

Purpose – Detoxification.

Foods to eat – A mix of fruits and vegetables that you ate on days 1 and 2. On this day of  Indian non vegetarian GM diet plan for weight loss, there is no limit to the quantity. Do not starve yourself. eat a lot of salads, fruits in any form of your choice. sprinkle rock salt or black salt on your veggies. Avoid regular table salt. Use only 1 tsp oil in the day to cook veggies if you like them cooked. and keep yourself hydrated. Drink as much water, juice and soup (natural form, without any added sugar) as possible. Like I always say, increased Urination is a sign of positive weight loss.

Best food picks –  Refer to the food pics of day 1 and day 2 mentioned above.

Foods to avoid – No Potato in any form.  Also, refer to the foods to be avoided on days 1 and 2.

Day 4 :

Indian Non Vegetarian GM Diet Plan for Weight Loss

Purpose – Carb Loading

Foods to eat – At the end of day 3, you would feel very light and you would have lost some good weight too. But to lose further weight, the body needs carbs to complete the process of fat utilization (burning). Hence the day 4 diet is all about loading your body with good carbs. You are allowed to eat 8 bananas and 4 glasses of milk. While the original GM diet does not specify any further intake of food, I would suggest you do not starve yourself. You are allowed to eat some extra fruits and veggies in order to feel full. You can even have some soup. But remember, finishing 4 glasses of milk and the mentioned quantity of banana is mandatory.

Best food picks –  You can interchange bananas with 4-5 medium mangoes if they are in season. Mix your banana with milk and make a smoothie out of it to enjoy the day. If you are not very fond of banana smoothies, then make a smoothie with any other fruit and have banana separately.

Foods to avoid – everything other than the specified food.

Day 5 :

Indian Non Vegetarian GM Diet Plan for Weight Loss

Purpose – Protein Loading to build up protein resources in the body while utilizing body fat and carbs for calories.

Foods to eat – This day of the GM diet is in actual sense a feast to all the non -vegetarians. The original GM diet calls to eat beef on this day. But most of the Indians do not prefer beef. Chicken, mutton, fish, and eggs being the basic choices of every average Indian. However, mutton cannot be a part of this day. Among the vegetarian choices, you can have sprouts, cottage cheese (paneer), and some soaked legumes. This day also calls for eating 5-6 medium-sized raw tomatoes.
* Note – High protein diet may lead to acidity in individuals. the potassium from raw tomatoes will help in neutralizing the acidic reactions. and keeps the metabolism on the go. Hence consuming raw tomatoes on this day is important.

Best food picks –  You are supposed to consume 50 – 60 gms of protein on this day. In the below-mentioned table, I have mentioned the food items in a specified quantity and the amount of protein they provide. So you can now easily pick up on what foods you would want to choose for yourself to enjoy the diet on this feasting day.

Foods to avoid – everything other than the specified food.

Food ItemQuantityProtein (gms)
Chicken50 gms13.5 gms
Fish10020 gms
Egg white1 large4 gms
Sprouts100 gm4 gms

Paneer100 gms11 gms
Curd100 gms11 gms

Day 6 :

Is similar to day 5. you can increase your quantity consumption and consume up to 70 gms of protein on this day.  use the above-given table to pick up your choice of protein. make sure you consume a lot of fluids to ensure increased urination.

Day 7 :

Indian Non Vegetarian GM Diet Plan for Weight Loss

Purpose –  To help your system to start eating normal carbs again.

Foods to eat – Last day of the diet plan. It really feels like a big accomplishment. the happiness, lightness, weight loss and excitement is clearly visible on your face. This day calls for eating all the fruits and vegetables from the allowed list. Soups, vegetable juices, coconut water, green tea are all allowed in the normal range. Lunch specifically needs to contain some complex carbs to get your system to start behaving like routine again.

Best food picks – Lunch menu can comprise of the following options

  • Brown rice vegetable pulav  (1 soup bowl )
  • vegetable oats upama (1 soup bowl )
  • broken wheat daliya (1 soup bowl )
  • 2 small Phulka with vegetable (Made without fat)
  • Quinoa vegetable pulav (1 soup bowl )

Foods to avoid – everything other than the specified food.

GM diet underwent modifications depending on country-specific cultures and traditions. Based on this  Indian non vegetarian GM diet plan for weight loss is the same as we discussed its vegetarian counterpart except for the fact that chicken is introduced on day 5 or day 6. Make sure that you have a skinless chicken that is cooked with a minimum amount of oil and spices- this is very important if you consider the spicy mix in Indian delicacies. The introduction of chicken on the 5th and 6th days will ensure the supply of iron and protein into your body.

According to the results of a recent study, the GM diet has the potential to get rid of at least 4 kilos of weight in just 7 days. This is what makes the GM diet more effective than other fad diets that can reduce only up to 1 or 2 pounds within the same time frame.

Important tips to follow while on Indian Non Vegetarian GM Diet Plan for Weight Loss:

  • Experts suggest that you should supplement the GM diet with a regular workout regime. It takes only 10 minutes of workout every day to keep your body’s metabolism at a satisfactory rate which would, in turn, boost your weight loss process. However, make sure that you engage in low-intensity exercises such as yoga or lightweight workouts as you will be having less energy supply due to reduced intake of carbohydrates during the one-week plan.

  • Diets that bring drastic changes may cause drastic negative impacts as well. Therefore, you should take appropriate preparatory measures to withstand the GM diet. You should be able to overcome obstacles that may appear in the form of excess sweating, occasional cravings, and momentary weakness. These are feelings that may affect you right on the very first day or even on the second day of this 7-day diet plan. Train your mind and imagine what you are going to achieve at the end of the 7-day regime. This way, you can overcome occasional cravings and binge eating habits.

  • Consider drinking 8-10 glasses of water every day. This way, you will not only overcome cravings but will also allow your body to boost its metabolic rate. Besides, water flushes out excess toxins from the body and aids in getting rid of water weight. If you are not taking proper precautions while following this diet you may suffer from muscle pain and weakness, increase in body temperatures and general discomfort or uneasiness. Fortunately, you can overcome all these problems by drinking adequate water and staying hydrated.

  • It feels really nice if you combine “lal paani” with chicken. Isn’t it? Alcohol lovers are aware of the magic that alcohol and chicken combos can create. However, alcohol consumption is a strict No-No if you are on a 7-day GM diet regime. Alcohol aids in water retention and this prevents the effect of the diet from showing up. So you may end up weighing the same after the 7-day period is over.

Does Indian Non Vegetarian GM Diet Plan for Weight Loss lead to permanent weight loss?

Now you may ask us whether GM diet, whether veg or non-veg, can promise you permanent weight loss. We are sorry to say that nothing is permanent until and unless you work towards maintaining a status quo. When you start following the GM diet plan, you shift to a healthy eating habit which promotes weight loss. However, if you go back to your normal eating habits, you are more likely to gain weight once again. So when you initiate a GM diet, your body would expect you to continue with a healthy lifestyle.

When the 7-day GM diet plan comes to an end:

  • Check this post-GM diet plan for maintaining the lost weight.
  • Healthy eating habits; Eat 6 small meals every day.
  • Engage in 30-45 minutes of physical activities to burn additional kilos that you may gain on account of the consumption of processed foods that form a major part of the modern-day lifestyle.
  • Follow any of these 1200 calorie diet plans from dietburrp. choose your cuisine.

You can base your GM diet on a wide variety of wondrous recipes that would not only allow you to satisfy your taste buds but would also help you feel satiated. The GM diet cabbage soup is one such wonder recipes that you may consume a number of times on the days when you are allowed to eat veggies.

GM Diet Wonder Soup Recipe

The preparatory procedure is damn easy and you need onions, cabbage, tomatoes, green pepper, water and celery as the main ingredients. If you are following a non-veg version, you may add some chicken pieces as well.

Process:

Chop onions and saute them along with green peppers in 1/2 tsp olive oil till they turn brown. Add water to the pot and then allow the onions to get boiled. Pour the soup in another bowl and add some rock salt and pepper for taste. You can keep the soup prepared in large quantities so that you can have it whenever cravings knock you.

Hi Payal, came across your blog, it really helped me get through my first ever GM diet with all the info available here.I am on my 6th day today.Yet to check my weight.
When I started i was 59 (Age:35/Height:1.6) I had a C sec and have been quite heavy around my stomach. Also primarily because my diet has not be controlled.
My question is 1) on day 5/6 -whether you can can 3 different types of proteins through the day.
2)Once i finish my diet which will be the best diet plan to follow to ensure that the weight after losing should be constant, and not increase once i am off GM.I plan to start with 30mins of running as well.

there is nothing like you cant do the diet during menstruation . the only point is that the 4 days cycle may interuppt with your weight loss. to be fran whoever follows GM diet , does it because you need to see immediate results. if your cycle happens to fall in that 7 days period , you will not get to see an end result . so to be on a safe side and make sure the person does not get demotivated , we ask them to avoid it during menstruation .

    Hi Payal,

My self Pankaj, i am 26 years old, male, height 6 feet, weight 119.5kg. I have started GM diet plan over the past week and today on day 5. i want to reduce 40kg as per doctor suggestion. my current weight is 116.5 (Starting of 5 day)

    I have query,
    1. Can this diet help to reduce 40 kg weight..? How many weeks need to complete this diet..?
    2. During diet plan shall eat sweet in between week plan.?
    3. Can i eat more protein suggested by GM diet plan on 5th day(more than 60 gms).
    4. After reduction of weight shall i continue normal food…?

      Hi Pankaj ,

You need to understand that GM diet is a crash diet ,.. and w=even if you become successful in losing 40 kgs by just fillowing this diet , you will gain every kg or even more weight back very soon .

you can use this diet intelligently to shed some bulk weight soon , and then maintain it for 2 -3 weeks before getting into another session of the same diet . other wise the body too will become immune to it , and then none of the diets will be able to help you after a certain point .

you need to follow a healthier routine .. exercises are must or else your skin will slagg .. use GM diet max for 2 weeks and then follow our 1200 calorie diet plan for 2 weeks . in a month o follow alternate week , but never follow in contibuation

      Hi Sara ,

ya too much fiber can cause constipation in some people . but this is temporary so dont worry , just drink pleanty of water . you can also take isabghol with warm water at night to clear your bowel .

    Hi Payel,
Just want to confirm some things about GM diet. I followed non veg version but lost 1.5 kg last time.i could work out on 4 days out of 7.
hope my questions will be helpful for people who wants to take it in future.

Am I allowed to drink coconut water with white tender coconut flesh inside on 1st to 6th day of diet? Confused about it.

Am I allowed to have boiled corn on 2nd and 3,rd day of diet?

I used black salt in my cooking’s like wonder soup and while cooking Rajma beans for protein days is it allowed?

Even after 60g protein intake on 5/6 day if I get hungry can I have extra fruits avoiding banana chiku? As I do exercise heavily I get hungry in actual even on 5/6 day of diet

Am I allowed to add spices like red chilli powder, corriender powder garlic-ginger,cumin powder along with black salt while I boil veggies ?
Can I have green tea on any of the day?

      Hi ,

1] yes you can have coconut water in my version of gm DIET

2] boiled corn is allowed on vegetable days .. but only 1 corn a day

3] yes black salt is allowed

4] heavy exercises are not allowed during GM dietr . you can do nominal intensity workouts only . you can have other extra fruits and veggies , but only those that are allowed on day 1 and 2 . banana and chikku are not allowed /

    Hi Payal,

I am diabetic but i would want to try the GM diet for weight loss. How can i follow this diet and not have spikes in my sugar (due to only fruits on day 1 and later banana and milk on day 4).

I am planning on enrolling for the diet services but would like to try this first.

    Thanks

      Hi Neville ,

I am afraid you should not follow this diet . it will lead to serious sugar spikes .. and there is nothinv we can di about it . otherwise the whole purpose and theory of the diet will nullify . so its best that we choose other healthier ways that will help u in both lowering the blood sugars to normal and losing weight , which is very easily possible with just a few changes … so please avoid this . if you are interested in diet services , please leave us a mail at care@dietburrp.com
